Driving in Beirut

In Lebanon, you drive on the right-hand side of the road and can blow the horn for passing, it won’t be considered as rude. Try to stick to the prescribed speed limits i.e. 50 km/h in the city and 100 km/h on the highway.

Try driving during the day as a few of the roads won’t be well-lit in the night. Use a GPS to navigate otherwise the routes can be confusing.

By all means, avoid rush hours and weekends if you do not want to get stuck in heavy traffic, 4PM to 6PM is the worst time to drive in Beirut.
